N-N-N-N-N-N-Necropost!

So it's been quite a while, but after many, many life changes I've started both painting and playing wargames again! Figured I may as well continue to catalogue my journey on here for posterity, feedback and CC!

Painting has taken a long time to get going again but I'm slowly getting there. My skills have definitely waned somewhat and I'm without my airbrushes (compressor died some time ago) but I'm relearning and there are some excellent new tools around from brushes to new paint producers so it's like starting again.

I've been sucked into at first StarGrave and resurrected a whole bunch of now superceded Infinity minatures, then 40k (I know, I said I'd never go back)  and now Horus Heresy, which never at all took me, but now I've played it and realised how close it is to GW games of old has really sucked me in.

Below is a small example of my recent foray into the Leagues of Votann:

X-Wing Custom Painted Z-95 Headhunter

N'dru from the "Most Wanted" expansion pack for the "Scum and Villainy" faction. Quick 15 minute paint job, dirty but effective.

Guards Guards!

British Guards Lorried Rifle Company that I painted specifically for Britcon back in 2013 in Manchester. Over the three days I had a good run but my last few fights tapered off and I ended up in "mid-table obscurity". The force was very much rush painted, I finished about half of them the day before I travelled down to the event!

Maschinen Krieger!

Maschinen Krieger is a bit of a niche range of plastic model kits produced in Japan with a near future and alternate WWII feel. I picked this kit up a long time ago and really loved painting this guy. I still have another variant sat in it's box at home.

If you like the style of this please google MaK and see what you come up with.

Folgore as they were finished!

I sold these chaps earlier this year as I lost interest in Bolt Action. I still love the Italian camouflage and equipment though, it all has it's very own unique flavour.

Japanese Armour

I briefly dipped my toe in Bolt Action and picked up a bunch of Japanese inf and a tank with a view to playing them but quickly lost interest in Bolt Action sadly. I painted this quickly and dirtily, did a fair bit of research into the very unique Japanese Camo patterns.

Achtung StuG!

StuG battery as they were finished with the custom objective marker I made from a genuine (albeit damaged) Iron Cross.:

Volksgrenadiers!

Finished these guys the best part of two years ago and never actually displayed them on here, so here we are:

Italian Para Officer

Few pics of the Italian Paratrooper Officer I did for Bolt Action. I tried to represent the Paratrooper collar tabs without going over the top. Love the uniform colourations and variations the Italians had in WWII!

It's been a while...

So it has been a while, been through a few personal things and taken a lot of time away from painting and gaming in general but I'm slowly picking up the pieces and hope to be putting some new stuff on here again soon! I have a few updates on some of the projects I was part way through before my hiatus I'll be updating these soon.

Some 28mm Bolt Action Folgore

So I've been absent a while, done a little gaming but  I'm back on the painting and gaming front. I got these recently with a recent slew of guys at my club buying into Bolt Action, I've always loved WW2 Italians and being able to do some of their fantastic camo in this scale is a dream. I painted this guy yesterday as a tester, he went from totally unpainted and unbased to what you see there in I think little over 2 hours which I'm very pleased with.
